Placement Requirements

All referrals are screened by the Sunnybrook Children’s Home screening committee via a questionnaire. During the screening process, youths may not meet Sunnybrook Children's Home criteria as candidates for admission who have had or have:

  • Affiliation with a gang, cult, hate group or any organization assembled to conduct anti-social activities
  • Moderate to severe medical problems
  • Violent episodes of aggression
  • A sexual perpetration history
  • A fire-setting history
  • A full scale I/Q below 70
  • A history of moderate to severe substance abuse/dependence

Children served by Sunnybrook Children's Home will be generally admitted for care between the ages of 6 and 20.
